Summer Heat and Ice Machines

As the temperatures rise in the summertime, so too does the demand for ice which means your commercial ice machine(s) will be working overtime for the next few months.

Most all commercial ice machines need adequate space around them to effectively self cool unless of course they are water cooled. Placing an ice machine near another appliance that generates heat will make it much more difficult to cool. Especially in restaurant kitchens where ovens and grills tend to generate an enormous amount of heat, commercial ice machines should be placed as far away from them as possible. Also making sure that the ice machines’ intake vents are cleaned regularly so that airflow is not restricted in any way will help keep ice production up.
